England Euro 2024 squad in full: The 26 players at the Euros (2024)

Gareth Southgate has finalised his 26-man England squad for Euro 2024, a tournament which the Three Lions enter as favourites.

Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish and James Maddison were among the controversial omissions from the final group, which was whittled down from an initial 33-strong provisional squad.

Captain Harry Kane will lead the star-studded squad in Germany, with other names including Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, and Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

England are in Group C, alongside Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia.

Goalkeepers

1. Jordan Pickford (Everton) Age: 30, Caps: 61

Pickford has been England’s undisputed No 1 since 2018 and is now one of the most senior figures in the squad.

13. Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal) Age: 26, Caps: 5

Now both England and Arsenal’s No 2, Ramsdale is a popular member of the squad who will be ready to step up if needed.

23. Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace) Age: 27, Caps: 1

The third-choice goalkeeper after an impressive season with Crystal Palace, Henderson is finally living up to the promise he showed as a youngster at Manchester United.

Defenders

2. Kyle Walker (Manchester City) Age: 34, Caps: 83

England’s oldest squad member and starting right-back was announced as vice-captain before the tournament.

3. Luke Shaw (Manchester United) Age: 28, Caps: 31

Despite not playing since February, Shaw has been selected in the squad with the hope of featuring in the knockout rounds.

5: John Stones (Manchester City) Age: 30, Caps: 72

Having shaken off a pre-tournament knock and an illness which left him bed-ridden, Stones has recovered to lead England’s defence in Germany.

6: Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) Age: 23, Caps: 11

Guehi is England’s replacement for Harry Maguire as a starting centre-back, a big step up for a talented young defender but one he is fully capable of making.

12. Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) Age: 33, Caps: 48

Trippier is heading to Germany as the back-up full-back on both flanks, set to start the tournament on the left to keep Shaw’s space warm.

14. Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa) Age: 26, Caps: 4

A versatile defender coming off the back of a great season with Champions League qualifiers Villa, Konsa is unlikely to start but may well still feature heavily.

15. Lewis Dunk (Brighton) Age: 32, Caps: 6

Rice is one of England’s most important players and the joint-most expensive English footballer ever.

8. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) Age: 25, Caps: 25

Given the No 8 shirt and expected to join Rice in central midfield, Alexander-Arnold is a right-back by trade but will fill a crucial gap for his country.

10. Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) Age: 20, Caps: 29

The new face of this England side and its new No 10, Bellingham is fresh from winning both La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid.

16. Conor Gallagher (Chelsea) Age: 24, Caps: 13

Although his club future is uncertain with his Chelsea contract up next season, Gallagher should still play a key role for England this summer.

25. Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) Age: 20, Caps: 1

The bolter in this squad, Wharton was still playing for Blackburn in the Championship as recently as January.

26. Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United) Age: 19, Caps: 3

Another player in the squad after an excellent first Premier League season, United starlet Mainoo could still force his way into Southgate’s starting XI.

Forwards

7. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) Age: 22, Caps: 33

One of England’s key players since Euro 2020, Saka has made the right-wing spot his own and has had another strong season for Arsenal.

9. Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) Age: 30, Caps: 91

England’s captain has had a stellar first season with Bayern Munich, winning the European Golden Shoe.

11. Phil Foden (Manchester City) Age: 24, Caps: 34

Premier League Player of the Year Foden has had his best season at club level but it remains to be seen whether he can translate this to the international stage.

17. Ivan Toney (Brentford) Age: 28, Caps: 3

Toney has not quite returned as hoped after his eight-month football ban due to gambling, but he will still be an important asset off the bench for England.

18. Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) Age: 23, Caps: 3

Gordon makes the squad off a stellar season with Newcastle and will offer England’s attack something different when needed.

19. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) Age: 28, Caps: 12

Watkins was among the best players in the Premier League last season but has struggled to find his role at international level so far.

20. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) Age: 27, Caps: 8
